What is Brotherly Protection?
Brotherly Protection is an email protection service that uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to analyze incoming messages for signs of phishing, spam, and other email-based threats.
Why am I seeing these banners at the top of my email?
The color-coded banners are set up by your IT team to warn you about potential threats. They show the sender’s address and whether the email came from inside your organization or from an external sender.
What do the different banner colors mean?
- Gray: We didn’t find anything suspicious. It’s still worth confirming that the sender is who you expect.
- Yellow: We found something unusual about the message. It isn’t necessarily phishing or dangerous, but it’s something you should be aware of.
- Red: We think the message is suspicious and likely to be phishing or dangerous in some other way.
What should I do if I receive an email with a yellow banner?
Check that the sender is who they claim to be, and be careful with any links or attachments.
What should I do if I receive an email with a red banner?
In general, delete it. Many organizations automatically quarantine flagged mail before it reaches the inbox, so you may rarely see one.
What does the “Report This Email” link do?
It opens a short web form where you can classify the message as Safe, Spam, or Phishing. Your feedback helps improve the accuracy of the protection.
Why do I see a warning page when I click a link?
Links are checked in real time when you click them. If a link points to a dangerous site, you’ll see a blocker page instead of the destination.
